CompositionFELDEX Tablet is used to manage pain, inflammation and stiffness associated with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It contains piroxicam, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID).
Piroxicam works by blocking enzymes involved in producing prostaglandins, substances in the body that cause pain, swelling and inflammation, so reducing their levels eases joint pain and stiffness.
Take this tablet with food or milk to reduce stomach irritation, at the lowest effective dose and for the shortest time needed, exactly as your doctor prescribes.
Piroxicam carries a higher risk of serious skin reactions and stomach bleeding than many other NSAIDs, so tell your doctor immediately if you develop a rash, mouth ulcers, blistering skin, or black or bloody stools. Avoid taking other NSAIDs or aspirin at the same time, and tell your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers, heart disease or kidney problems.
