Febired Tablet 10

FEBIRED TABLET 10 may interact with the following medicines:

• Antibiotic medicines such as tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones (e.g., doxycycline, ciprofloxacin): Iron and zinc may reduce the absorption of these antibiotics and decrease their effectiveness. A gap between the administration of the medicines may be advised.
• Antiepileptic medicines (e.g., phenytoin): Folic acid may affect blood levels or effectiveness of certain antiepileptic medicines in some individuals. Monitoring may be advised during combined use.
• Antacids (e.g., calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide): Antacids may reduce iron absorption and decrease the effectiveness of iron supplementation. Taking the medicines at different times may be advised.
• Thyroid hormones (e.g., levothyroxine): Iron supplements may reduce the absorption of levothyroxine and decrease thyroid medicine effectiveness. Dose timing adjustments may be required.
• Medicines used for Parkinson’s disease (e.g., levodopa): Iron supplements may reduce the absorption of levodopa in some individuals. Dose separation may be recommended.

FEBIRED TABLET 10 may interact with the following foods and beverages:

• Tea and coffee: Tea and coffee may reduce iron absorption from the gastrointestinal tract and decrease the effectiveness of iron supplementation. To help improve iron absorption, avoid taking this medicine together with tea or coffee and maintain a gap of at least 1–2 hours.
• Milk and calcium-rich foods: Milk and calcium-rich foods, such as cheese, yoghurt, and calcium supplements, may interfere with the absorption of iron from this medicine. It is advisable to take this medicine at least 1–2 hours apart from milk or calcium-rich foods for better absorption.

FEBIRED TABLET 10 should be used with caution if you have:

• Iron overload disorders (e.g., haemochromatosis): Iron-containing supplements may worsen excessive iron accumulation and increase the risk of organ-related complications.
• Peptic ulcer disease: Iron supplements may worsen stomach irritation or gastrointestinal discomfort in susceptible individuals.
• Vitamin B12 deficiency-related neurological disorders: Patients with neurological complications associated with vitamin B12 deficiency may require careful monitoring during treatment.

Take FEBIRED TABLET 10 exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The dosage and duration of treatment may vary depending on nutritional status, severity of deficiency, haemoglobin levels, and individual response to treatment.

Overdose of FEBIRED TABLET 10 may increase the risk of severe nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, or iron toxicity. Seek immediate medical attention if overdose is suspected, especially in children, as iron overdose may be serious.

If you miss a dose of FEBIRED TABLET 10, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take extra doses to compensate for the missed dose.
