• Treatment of anaemia caused by Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in both patients undergoing dialysis and those not on dialysis
• Treatment of Anaemia caused by Zidovudine therapy in patients with HIV infection
• Treatment of Anaemia due to effects of concomitant myelosuppressive chemotherapy
• It is used in moderately anaemic adults who donate some of their blood before surgery, so that it can be given back to them during or after the operation
• It is also used in moderately anaemic adults about to have major orthopaedic surgery (for example hip or knee replacement operations), to reduce the potential need for blood transfusions
• It also reduces the need for allogeneic Red Blood Cell (RBC) Transfusions in patients undergoing elective, non-cardiac, and non-vascular surgery
