By relaxing the blood vessels and easing the heart's workload, it helps lower the risk of heart attack and stroke.
It contains enalapril, which belongs to a group of medicines called ACE inhibitors that relax the blood vessels so blood flows more easily. Take it as prescribed, and keep taking it even when you feel well; do not stop it without medical advice.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying active, keeping to a healthy weight and limiting alcohol support better blood pressure control alongside this medicine. Avoid potassium-based salt substitutes unless your doctor agrees.
Tell your doctor about any kidney problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. Avoid this medicine in pregnancy. A dry cough can occur; tell your doctor if it is troublesome. Report marked dizziness, fainting, or swelling of the face, lips or tongue.
