Drep O Ear Drops 5Ml

Drep O Ear Drops 5ml is used to treat bacterial infections of the outer ear canal, reduce ear pain and irritation associated with infection, and relieve discomfort and itching in the ear.

Uses of Drep O Ear Drops 5ml are:

• Outer Ear Infections: Treats bacterial infections of the outer ear canal.
• Ear Pain and Irritation: Reduces pain, irritation and itching associated with ear infection.

Follow these instructions while using Drep O Ear Drops 5ml:

• Use the drops exactly as advised by your doctor.
• Wash your hands before and after application.
• Clean and gently dry the outer ear before use.
• Tilt the head or lie down with the affected ear facing upward.
• Instil the prescribed drops into the ear canal.
• Keep the head tilted for a few minutes to allow the medicine to spread properly.
• Avoid touching the dropper tip to the ear or any surface to prevent contamination.

Drep O Ear Drops 5ml contains the following components:

• Glacial acetic acid (0.66%): This is a topical antiseptic that helps create an acidic environment inside the ear canal, which makes it difficult for bacteria and fungi to survive and multiply. By limiting microbial growth, it helps control infection, reduce discharge, and support faster healing of the irritated ear canal.
• Lignocaine hydrochloride (2%): This is a local anaesthetic that works by temporarily blocking pain signals from nerves in the ear canal. It provides relief from pain, burning, and irritation, helping improve comfort while the infection is being treated.
• Ofloxacin (0.3%): This is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that works by blocking bacterial enzymes required for DNA replication and repair. As a result, bacteria are unable to multiply and gradually die, allowing the infection to clear and symptoms such as swelling, discharge, and discomfort to improve.

• Store below 25°C away from heat and direct sunlight.
• Keep the bottle tightly closed after use.
• Store in a clean, dry place.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date.

• Keep the ear dry during treatment: Prevent water from entering the affected ear while bathing or washing hair, as moisture encourages bacterial growth and may delay recovery. Your doctor may advise protecting the ear during bathing if needed.
• Avoid inserting objects into the ear canal: Cotton buds, fingers, or other objects can irritate the ear canal, push debris deeper, and worsen infection. Clean only the outer ear gently.
• Avoid swimming or prolonged water exposure: Swimming pools, lakes, or long showers can keep the ear canal moist and delay healing. Resume swimming only after symptoms improve, and your doctor advises it is safe.
• Maintain gentle ear hygiene: Avoid over-cleaning the ear canal since natural earwax helps protect against infection. Proper ear care helps reduce the risk of recurrent infections.
