Diprovate Lotion is used to manage various inflammatory, itchy, and chronic skin conditions.

Uses of Diprovate Lotion are:

• Psoriasis: It treats red, flaky patches that develop on the skin surface.
• Eczema and Atopic Dermatitis: It soothes skin inflammation, intense irritation, and generalized itchiness.
• Contact Dermatitis: It manages skin rashes triggered by physical contact with irritating substances.
• Seborrheic Dermatitis: It relieves scaly patches and red skin associated with this inflammatory disorder.
• Neurodermatitis and Lichen Simplex Chronicus: It breaks the chronic cycle of itching and scratching that causes patches of skin to become thickened.
• Intertrigo: It calms painful inflammation caused by friction and skin rubbing within body folds.
• Dyshidrosis: It helps clear small, uncomfortable fluid blisters that form on the hands and feet.
• Discoid Lupus Erythematosus: It treats chronic sores that present with severe skin inflammation and scarring.
• Insect Bites: It provides targeted relief from localised itching and swelling following a bite.
• Plant Skin Reactions (Poison Ivy, Oak, or Sumac): It manages acute allergic skin flare-ups caused by contact with irritating plants.

To use Diprovate Lotion effectively:

• Start by cleaning the affected area with soap and water.

• Pat it dry using a clean towel.

• Apply a few drops of lotion to the affected area.

• Gently massage until the lotion disappears into the skin.

• Discontinue when control is achieved. If no improvement is seen within 2 weeks, consult your doctor.

Remember not to use this lotion on your face, groyne, or underarms unless directed by your doctor. Always ensure this medicine is for topical use only.

Diprovate Lotion contains Betamethasone (0.05 %), which acts on your body as follows:

• Inhibition of Phospholipase A2 Enzyme: Betamethasone inhibits an enzyme called phospholipase A2 in your body. This enzyme is responsible for releasing arachidonic acid from cell membrane phospholipids.

• Reduction in Inflammatory Mediators: By inhibiting phospholipase A2, betamethasone effectively reduces the release of arachidonic acid, leading to a decrease in the synthesis of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes.

• Induction of Lipocortin-1 Synthesis: Betamethasone also induces the synthesis of a protein called lipocortin-1, which further inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators.

• Store Diprovate Lotion at a controlled room temperature between 15°C to 30°C.

• Protect this lotion from freezing temperatures.

• Always keep it in a location where it's safe from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Ensure Diprovate Lotion is kept out of reach of children at all times.

• If you're managing psoriasis or eczema with Diprovate Lotion, try including omega-3 fatty acids in your diet. Foods like fish, walnuts, and flaxseeds are rich in these beneficial fats, which can help reduce inflammation and soothe skin conditions.

• Regularly moisturise your skin to prevent dryness and itching. Choose gentle, fragrance-free creams or ointments, and apply right after a bath or shower when your skin is still moist to lock in hydration.
