CompositionDefshield Tablet 10 is used to reduce inflammation and to manage a range of autoimmune and immune-related conditions, including certain types of arthritis, asthma, severe allergies, inflammatory bowel disease, and skin and eye disorders.
It is also used after organ transplants to help prevent rejection of the new organ. It contains deflazacort, a corticosteroid.
Eating a balanced diet low in salt and added sugar, getting enough calcium and vitamin D to protect bone health, and doing regular weight-bearing exercise support safer use of this medicine; avoid contact with people who have chickenpox or measles if you have not had them before.
Before starting, tell your doctor about any infection, diabetes, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers or mental health concerns, and about all other medicines you take. Long-term use can affect blood sugar, bone strength and blood pressure, so regular check-ups are important. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your doctor before use.
