CompositionDeflagard 6 Tablet 10 is used to manage a wide range of inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, including certain types of arthritis, asthma, severe allergies, inflammatory bowel disease, and skin and eye disorders. It is a single-ingredient corticosteroid medicine containing deflazacort.
This medicine is also used after organ transplants to help prevent the body from rejecting the new organ. It should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor, as the dose depends on the condition being treated, usually with food or milk to reduce stomach upset. Do not stop this medicine suddenly without your doctor's advice, as the dose often needs to be reduced gradually.
Eating a balanced diet low in salt and added sugar, getting enough calcium and vitamin D to support bone health, and doing regular weight-bearing exercise support safer use of this medicine. Avoid contact with people who have chickenpox or measles if you have not had them before, as steroids can weaken the immune response.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any infections, diabetes, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers, mental health concerns, or are taking other medicines. Long-term use can affect blood sugar, bone strength and blood pressure, so regular check-ups are important. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use.
