CLAVIA 500/125 MG TABLET 10 is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including infections of the respiratory tract, ears, sinuses, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, and bones and joints, caused by susceptible bacteria.
It contains amoxicillin, a penicillin antibiotic, and clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Clavulanic acid helps protect amoxicillin from breakdown by certain bacterial enzymes (beta-lactamases), making the medicine effective against susceptible beta-lactamase-producing bacteria.
Take this medicine with food, exactly as prescribed by your doctor, to help reduce stomach upset. Complete the full prescribed course, even if you start feeling better, to help prevent the infection from returning and reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance.
During treatment, get adequate rest, stay well hydrated, and avoid taking leftover or shared antibiotics. Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor if you have an allergy to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics, a history of liver problems related to amoxicillin-clavulanic acid, or kidney disease. Contact your doctor immediately if you develop a severe skin rash, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or persistent or severe diarrhoea, including after completing the treatment.
