Citizen-Plus Tablet is used to support recovery after a stroke and to manage cognitive disorders such as memory loss and difficulty concentrating. It is a combination medicine containing citicoline and piracetam, which belong to a class of medicines called neurotropic agents.
Citicoline helps repair damaged nerve cells in the brain, while piracetam helps protect the brain and nervous system when oxygen supply is reduced. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it. Continue taking it for the duration your doctor prescribes to support ongoing recovery.
Alongside this medicine, engaging in physical therapy and cognitive exercises as advised by your care team can support recovery after a stroke. Managing blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol, and avoiding smoking, also help reduce the risk of further strokes.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor about any pre-existing conditions or other medicines you are taking, including antiplatelet medicines. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Contact your doctor if you notice any new or worsening side effects while taking this medicine.
