Cinacet 30 Tablet is used in adults to manage high parathyroid hormone and calcium levels in selected long-term conditions.

Uses of Cinacet 30 Tablet are:

• Secondary Hyperparathyroidism in Dialysis: Helps manage high parathyroid hormone levels in adults with chronic kidney disease on dialysis.
• Parathyroid Cancer: Helps control high blood calcium in adults with parathyroid cancer.
• Primary Hyperparathyroidism: Helps reduce severe high calcium in selected adults who cannot have surgery to remove the parathyroid glands.

To use Cinacet 30 Tablet correctly, follow these steps:

• Swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing.

• If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the one you missed.

• Always remember not to stop taking this medicine without first consulting your doctor.

Cinacet 30 Tablet is taken orally.

Cinacet 30 Tablet contains cinacalcet (30 mg), which works on your body in the following ways:

• Modulates Calcium Sensing Receptors: Cinacalcet increases the sensitivity of the calcium-sensing receptors to extracellular calcium. These receptors are found in your parathyroid glands.

• Decreases Parathyroid Hormone Secretion: By modulating the calcium-sensing receptors, cinacalcet effectively reduces the secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH).

• Reduces Serum Calcium Levels: The decrease in PTH levels leads to a reduction in serum calcium levels in your body.

• Store Cinacet 30 Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep it away from moisture and ensure the container is tightly closed.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Make sure you use the medicine before its expiry date.

• Since Cinacet 30 Tablet is used to manage secondary hyperparathyroidism in patients with chronic kidney disease, a low-phosphate diet can be beneficial. This means reducing the intake of foods high in phosphate, such as dairy products, beans, and nuts.

• If you have been prescribed this medicine for hypercalcemia associated with parathyroid carcinoma, maintaining adequate hydration by drinking plenty of fluids can help your body better manage high calcium levels.
