Chemotinib 100 MG Capsule 10 is used for the following:

• Treatment of chronic myeloid leukaemia

• Managing acute lymphocytic leukaemia

• Treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumours

• Managing dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans

• Treatment of hypereosinophilic syndrome

• Controlling certain blood cancers

• Managing rare cancers with tyrosine kinase activity

• Slowing down cancer cell growth and spread

• Targeting Philadelphia chromosome-positive cancers

• Treatment of cancers with abnormal protein expression

Follow these instructions while taking Chemotinib 100 MG Capsule 10:

• Take the capsule whole with a large glass of water.

• Always take this medicine with a meal.

• Swallow the capsule without crushing, breaking or chewing it.

• Try to take this medicine at the same time each day.

• Continue taking the capsule for as long as your doctor advises.

• Do not stop taking this medicine on your own, even if you feel better.

• Consult your doctor if you have any questions about using this medicine.

Chemotinib 100 MG Capsule 10 is taken orally.

Chemotinib 100 MG Capsule 10 contains imatinib mesylate (100 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Tyrosine kinase inhibition: Imatinib blocks specific enzymes called tyrosine kinases, particularly the BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase that is produced by an abnormal chromosome called the Philadelphia chromosome.

• ATP binding site blockade: It prevents adenosine triphosphate (ATP), an energy-carrying molecule, from binding to the BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase, which stops the enzyme from functioning properly.

• Prevention of phosphorylation: Imatinib stops the process called phosphorylation, where phosphate groups are added to proteins, which is necessary for cancer cell growth and division.

• Induction of apoptosis: The medicine triggers apoptosis, a natural process of programmed cell death, in the abnormal blood cells that cause cancer.

• Cytostatic and cytotoxic effects: Imatinib has both growth-stopping (cytostatic) and cell-killing (cytotoxic) effects on cancer cells, helping to control the disease.
