Celepid Mct Lct 20% Emulsion 250 ML

Celepid Mct Lct 20% Emulsion is used for providing concentrated energy and managing essential fatty acid deficiency in critically ill patients. It is formulated with Soybean Oil, Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT), Egg Lecithin, Glycerol, and Water for Injection. Celepid MCT-LCT 20% is a sterile, non-pyrogenic intravenous fat emulsion that delivers 1908 kcal/L and supports patients requiring parenteral nutrition. The combination of long- and medium-chain triglycerides allows for quick energy release and efficient fat metabolism. This single-dose emulsion is suitable for patients who cannot consume food orally or enterally. 

• Soybean Oil (10 g/100 mL): A rich source of long-chain triglycerides (LCTs), it provides essential fatty acids like linoleic and linolenic acids, which are vital for cell membrane integrity, immune function, and inflammation regulation.
   
• Medium Chain Triglycerides – MCT (10 g/100 mL): Easily absorbed and rapidly metabolised for energy, MCTs do not require bile salts for digestion and are ideal for critically ill patients needing quick, accessible calories without overloading the liver.
   
• Egg Lecithin (1.2 g/100 mL): Acts as an emulsifier to stabilise the oil-in-water emulsion. It also provides phospholipids, which support cell membrane health and lipid transport.
   
• Glycerol (2.5 g/100 mL): It helps to adjust the tonicity of the emulsion, making it suitable for intravenous use. It also provides a small amount of energy.
   
• Water for Injection (q.s.): Serves as the vehicle for the emulsion, ensuring it is sterile and safe for intravenous administration.

• Provides Concentrated Energy: It delivers a high caloric value (1908 kcal/L), making it an efficient energy source for patients who are critically ill or unable to consume nutrition orally or enterally.
   
• Helps Manage Essential Fatty Acid Deficiency (EFAD): The inclusion of soybean oil supplies essential fatty acids like linoleic and alpha-linolenic acid, which are necessary for maintaining cell structure and function.
   
• Supports Parenteral Nutrition Therapy: It serves as the lipid component in total parenteral nutrition (TPN), helping meet caloric needs during recovery in hospital settings such as ICUs or post-operative care.
   
• Promotes Fat Metabolism: The combination of medium-chain and long-chain triglycerides ensures better tolerance, faster oxidation, and efficient energy utilisation in metabolically stressed patients.
