Carzest 1 Gm Injection 15 Ml is used to treat primary or secondary carnitine deficiency, including carnitine deficiency in people with end-stage renal disease who are undergoing haemodialysis.
It contains levocarnitine 1 g per 5 mL. Levocarnitine replaces carnitine, a substance the body needs to transport fatty acids into cells for energy production. The injection is administered into a vein by a doctor or nurse.
Your doctor will decide the dose and duration and may monitor your response with clinical assessments and blood tests.
Before treatment, tell your doctor about seizures, kidney problems, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and about other medicines you take. Tell the healthcare team promptly if you develop a seizure, severe diarrhoea or signs of an allergic reaction.
