Betamil GM Cream is used to treat inflammatory skin conditions with an associated bacterial or fungal infection, such as eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis when complicated by infection. It combines an anti-inflammatory, an antibiotic and an antifungal agent to reduce redness and itching while controlling the underlying infection.
This cream contains a corticosteroid to reduce inflammation, an antibiotic to control bacteria, and an antifungal agent. Apply it only to the affected skin exactly as your doctor directs, and do not use more than advised.
Keep the affected area clean and dry, wear loose, breathable clothing, and avoid covering the area with airtight dressings unless your doctor tells you to, as this can increase absorption of the medicine.
Do not use this cream for longer than prescribed, as this can lead to skin problems such as thinning. Speak to your doctor right away if your skin becomes more irritated or if your condition does not improve. Do not use a steroid-containing combination for uncomplicated ringworm or another fungal infection unless specifically directed, because the steroid can mask or worsen infection.
