Azopt Ophthalmic Suspension is used to lower raised pressure inside the eye (intraocular pressure) in adults with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Keeping eye pressure controlled helps protect the optic nerve and may help reduce the risk of vision loss.
It contains brinzolamide, a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. Shake the bottle well before use. Apply the drops as prescribed and close the eye gently after instilling. Press lightly on the inner corner of the eye for about one minute to reduce the amount absorbed into the body.
Attending all eye clinic follow-up appointments for regular eye pressure monitoring is an important part of glaucoma management. Tell your doctor if your vision changes or eye symptoms worsen.
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor about any kidney problems or allergy to sulphonamide medicines, as brinzolamide belongs to a related chemical class. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
