Azopt Ophthalmic Suspension 5Ml

Azopt Ophthalmic Suspension is used in adults to reduce raised pressure inside the eye, helping to protect the optic nerve in glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

Uses of Azopt Ophthalmic Suspension are:

• Open-angle Glaucoma: Lowers raised intraocular pressure to protect the optic nerve.
• Ocular Hypertension: Reduces high eye pressure to lower the risk of glaucoma.
• Adjunctive Therapy: Used alongside other eye pressure-lowering drops when one medicine is not providing enough control.

Here's how to use Azopt Ophthalmic Suspension correctly:

• Ensure your hands are clean before using this medicine.

• Shake the bottle well before use.

• Tilt your head back and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Look up and squeeze out one drop into this pocket.

• Close your eye and gently press your finger to the inside corner of the eye for about 1 minute, to prevent the liquid from draining into your tear duct.

Azopt Ophthalmic Suspension is applied topically.

Azopt Ophthalmic Suspension contains two active ingredients:

• Brinzolamide (1%): This ingredient works by inhibiting the activity of an enzyme called carbonic anhydrase in your eyes. It reduces the production of aqueous humour, a fluid in the eye. This action helps manage the increased intraocular pressure associated with conditions like glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.001%): This ingredient acts as a preservative in the medication. It helps to maintain the sterility of the product, ensuring its effectiveness and safety for use.

• Store Azopt Ophthalmic Suspension at a cool temperature below 30°C.

• Keep it away from direct light.

• Do not expose it to excessive heat or moisture.

• Always keep it out of reach of children.

• Make sure you use the medicine before its expiry date.

• Once opened, discard any unused suspension after 4 weeks.
