ATOVASTRIN CV 40/75 CAPSULE 15  Capsule is used to reduce the risk of serious heart and blood vessel events in adults with coronary artery disease by lowering cholesterol and reducing the tendency of blood to clot.

Uses of ATOVASTRIN CV 40/75 CAPSULE 15 are:

• Heart Attack Prevention: Reduces the risk of heart attacks in adults with established coronary artery disease.
• Stroke Risk Reduction: Helps lower the chance of stroke in people at high cardiovascular risk.
• High Cholesterol Management: Lowers LDL ("bad") cholesterol and triglycerides, and raises HDL ("good") cholesterol.
• Blood Clot Prevention: Helps prevent the formation of blood clots in people with heart disease when prescribed by a doctor, such as after certain heart attacks or following stent placement.

Follow these instructions while taking ATOVASTRIN CV 40/75 CAPSULE 15:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• Take this medicine with or without food as advised by your doctor.

• Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule.

• Take this medicine at the same time every day to maintain its effectiveness.

ATOVASTRIN CV 40/75 CAPSULE 15 contains two active ingredients:

• Atorvastatin (40 mg): This component inhibits an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a crucial role in cholesterol production in the liver. By reducing this enzyme's activity, atorvastatin effectively lowers the levels of "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides while increasing "good" cholesterol (HDL) in the blood.

• Clopidogrel (75 mg): This ingredient works as an antiplatelet agent by irreversibly blocking a specific receptor called P2Y12 on platelets. By preventing adenosine diphosphate (ADP) from binding to this receptor, clopidogrel stops platelets from sticking together, thus reducing the risk of blood clot formation in the arteries.
