ATOVASTRIN CV 40/75 CAPSULE 15 is used to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes in adults with coronary artery disease.
It combines a cholesterol-lowering medicine with an antiplatelet medicine to protect the heart and blood vessels over the long term. Take it as prescribed. Continue taking it as prescribed, even when you feel well, as stopping suddenly increases your risk of a heart attack or stroke.
Follow a low-saturated-fat, low-cholesterol diet to support the cholesterol-lowering effect of this medicine. Avoid alcohol in excess, as it can increase the risk of bleeding and may affect your liver.
Tell your doctor before starting if you have liver or kidney problems, a bleeding disorder, stomach ulcers, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Report any unusual bruising, bleeding, muscle pain or weakness, or signs of yellowing of the skin (jaundice) to your doctor immediately.
