Atm Xl 200 Mg Suspension 15 Ml is used to treat bacterial infections in children, including ear infections (otitis media), throat infections (tonsillitis), and chest infections (bronchitis). It often needs a shorter course than many other antibiotics, typically three to five days, making it easier for children to complete.
It contains azithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic, which stops bacteria growing so the body's defences can clear the infection. Shake the bottle well and measure the dose carefully with the spoon or dropper provided, as prescribed. Food may help prevent mild stomach upset. Continue the complete course even if your child seems better, to fully clear the infection and reduce resistance risk.
Encourage your child to rest and drink plenty of fluids to support recovery, and maintain good hand hygiene to help prevent the infection spreading to others.
Tell your doctor if your child has a known allergy to azithromycin or other macrolide antibiotics, or any heart rhythm problems, before starting. Contact your doctor promptly if your child develops a skin rash, swelling, difficulty breathing, or severe or watery diarrhoea during treatment.
