AMBIZYME TABLET 20 is used in the treatment of various worm infections caused by parasites, including intestinal strongyloidiasis, tapeworm infections, and other parasitic infestations.

AMBIZYME TABLET 20 contains diiodohydroxyquinoline (300 mg) and works in the body through two key mechanisms:

• Metal Chelation: Diiodohydroxyquinoline forms complex structures with trace metals like iron and zinc present on the surface of amebic cells. These metals are essential for the growth and survival of these parasites. By binding to these metals, diiodohydroxyquinoline interferes with critical enzymes for amoeba metabolism.
• Destruction of Parasite Cells: This medicine also destroys the outer cell wall or cyst layer of the amoeba, causing their death. The action directly occurs at the site of infection in the intestines because the medicine is poorly absorbed and remains in high concentrations here.
• Enhanced Zinc Absorption: Another effect of diiodohydroxyquinoline is promoting zinc absorption in the intestine. This additional zinc contributes further to destroying amebic cells.

• Store the AMBIZYME TABLET 20 at room temperature.
