Allercet Syrup 60 ml is used to manage allergic rhinitis.

Uses of Allercet Syrup 60 ml are:

• Allergic Rhinitis: Relieves sneezing, an itchy or runny nose, and watery eyes.
• Skin Allergy Symptoms: Helps reduce itching, redness, and hives caused by skin allergies or insect bites.

When giving Allercet Syrup 60ml to your child, follow these guidelines:

• Measure the correct dose of the syrup using the provided measuring cup.
• Keep the bottle well-capped after use.
• This medicine is sugar-based and needs caution for use in diabetic patients. If your child has diabetes, consult your doctor before giving them this medicine.

Allercet Syrup 60ml is given orally to children.

Allercet Syrup 60ml contains cetirizine (5 mg) as its active ingredient:

• Selective H1 Receptor Inhibition: Cetirizine works by selectively blocking a type of receptor in the body called histamine H1 receptors. Histamine is a chemical that is released during an allergic reaction and can cause inflammation and itching among other symptoms.
• Suppression of Allergic Symptoms: By inhibiting these receptors, cetirizine effectively suppresses the effects of histamine. This helps reduce inflammation and itching caused by the allergic reaction.
• Reduction in Drowsiness: Unlike some other antihistamines, cetirizine does not readily enter the brain from the blood. This means it is less likely to cause drowsiness—a common side effect of many allergy medications.

• Store Allercet Syrup 60ml at a cool room temperature between 20°C and 25°C.
• Keep it away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
• Never allow your child to access the medicine.
• Make sure you check the expiry date on the bottle and avoid using the syrup if it is past this date.

• To help manage allergic symptoms, ensure your child's environment is free from common allergens like dust mites and pet dander.
• Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids, as staying hydrated can help soothe a dry throat caused by postnasal drip.
