Abraxane 100mg Injection is used for the following:

• Treating metastatic breast cancer

• Managing locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer

• Treating metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma

• Therapy for advanced breast cancer after failed treatments

• Managing non-small cell lung cancer with carboplatin

• First-line treatment for pancreatic cancer with gemcitabine

• Treating ovarian cancer in specific cases

• Managing AIDS-related Kaposi's sarcoma

Follow these instructions when Abraxane 100mg Injection is administered:

• This medicine must only be given by qualified doctors in a hospital or clinic setting.

• Abraxane 100mg Injection is administered as an intravenous infusion over 30 minutes.

• The medicine appears as a white to yellow powder that will be reconstituted before administration.

• No premedication with steroids or antihistamines is typically required.

• The doctor will monitor you during and after administration.

• Your doctor will determine the appropriate treatment schedule based on your specific condition.

Abraxane 100mg Injection is administered intravenously.

Abraxane 100mg Injection contains two active ingredients:

• Paclitaxel (100 mg): This component works by stabilising microtubules in cancer cells. Microtubules are tiny structures that help cells divide and multiply. By binding to these structures, paclitaxel prevents them from breaking down when they should during cell division.

• Albumin (900 mg): A naturally occurring protein found in human blood serves as a carrier for paclitaxel. It helps deliver the medicine more effectively to cancer cells by exploiting natural albumin pathways in the body. The albumin binding creates nanoparticles that average 130 nm in size, allowing better delivery to tumour sites.

• Store unopened Abraxane 100mg Injection vials in original packaging.

• Protect from bright light and excessive heat.

• Once reconstituted, use immediately or refrigerate at 2°C to 8°C for up to eight hours.

• Keep all medicines out of sight and reach of children.

• Avoid using Abraxane 100mg Injection after the expiry date printed on the package.

• During cancer treatment with Abraxane 100mg Injection, try to eat small, frequent, protein-rich meals (such as yoghurt, eggs, or lentils) to help maintain strength and support your immune system when experiencing nausea.

• Stay well-hydrated by drinking 8-10 glasses of water daily to help your body process the medicine and potentially reduce some side effects like constipation.
