CompositionAbicid Dm 10/20 Mg Capsule 10 is a medicine used to treat severe acidity, heartburn, and acid reflux (GERD). It relieves the burning sensation in the chest and stomach discomfort caused by excess stomach acid.
It contains a combination of omeprazole and domperidone. Omeprazole reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach, while domperidone improves the movement of the stomach and intestines so that food and acid do not travel back upwards. Take it in the morning on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before breakfast, for better absorption, and swallow the capsule whole with water. Continue taking it as prescribed, even after you start feeling better, to prevent the acidity from returning.
Avoid spicy, oily, and overly acidic foods, as these can trigger or worsen symptoms. Eating smaller, more frequent meals instead of large ones, cutting down on alcohol and smoking, and not lying down immediately after eating can also help keep acid reflux under control.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have osteoporosis, low magnesium levels, or kidney or liver disease. Also let your doctor know if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other medicines, so that interactions can be avoided.
