Composition

Remogliflozin Etabonate (100 Mg) + Teneligliptin (10 Mg)

Zita Plus-R Tablet is primarily used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It's a combination medicine that falls under the category of antidiabetic medications.

Apart from this main use, this medicine can also be used to help improve blood glucose control in type 2 diabetes patients who have not reached their target blood glucose levels with metformin or other oral antidiabetic medications.

Directions for Use of Zita Plus R Tablet 10

Here's how to take Zita Plus-R Tablet:

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
Do not crush or chew the tablet
Ensure you do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor

Zita Plus-R Tablet is taken orally.

Zita Plus-R Tablet may have the following common side effects:

Genital mycotic infections: These are fungal infections that can affect the genital area.
Urinary tract infections
Hypoglycaemia: This is when your blood sugar gets too low.
Increased urination
Dizziness
Headache
Gastrointestinal discomfort: This includes symptoms like feeling sick (nausea) and diarrhoea.

Managing the Side Effects:

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless, which resolves on discontinuing the use of Zita Plus-R Tablet. However, if you experience any serious side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Here are some general guidelines for managing common side effects:

Hypoglycaemia: If you feel dizzy or faint, it might be because your blood sugar has dropped too low. In this case, try consuming some fast-acting carbohydrates like a glass of fruit juice or some sweets.
Gastrointestinal discomfort: Taking Zita Plus-R Tablet with food could help lessen this effect.

Zita Plus-R Tablet contains two active ingredients:

Remogliflozin Etabonate (100 mg): As a sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, remogliflozin works by blocking SGLT2, a protein that helps the kidneys reabsorb glucose back into the bloodstream. By inhibiting SGLT2, remogliflozin reduces glucose reabsorption, causing more glucose to be excreted in the urine, which helps lower blood sugar levels.
Teneligliptin (10 mg): This ingredient is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. DPP-4 is an enzyme that breaks down hormones called incretins. Incretins such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) help stimulate insulin release from the pancreas when blood glucose levels are high. By inhibiting DPP-4, teneligliptin enhances insulin release, which helps lower blood glucose levels.

Pregnancy

Zita Plus-R Tablet is not recommended during the second and third trimesters due to potential harm to the foetus. It is advised to consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant.

Breastfeeding

The excretion of Zita Plus-R Tablet in breast milk is unknown. Therefore, use caution when breastfeeding while taking this medicine.

Alcohol

Liver

Insulin or insulin secretagogues: Taking this medicine alongside insulin or insulin secretagogues like sulfonylureas could increase the risk of low blood sugar levels, also known as hypoglycaemia.
Diuretics: If you're taking diuretics like furosemide, you risk dehydration and low blood pressure, technically known as hypotension. Therefore, it's crucial to monitor your kidney function and blood pressure.
Cardiac Glycoside: Medicine such as Digoxin when co-administered with Zita Plus-R tablet may cause a slight spike in digoxin levels. So, if you're taking digoxin as well, regular monitoring of its levels is advisable.
CYP3A4 inducers: Medicines such as rifampin, which induces CYP3A4, could reduce the effectiveness of Teneligliptin present in Zita Plus-R Tablet. Hence, it's better to steer clear of these medicines.

Zita Plus-R Tablet interacts with the following diseases:

Severe renal impairment: This tablet is not recommended for patients with severe kidney problems.
