Whitfield's Ointment is used for managing various skin infections, including acne. Each 20-gram tube contains 6% benzoic acid and 3% salicylic acid as active ingredients. Benzoic acid possesses antibacterial properties, helping to manage infection caused by bacteria, while salicylic acid serves as a keratolytic agent, promoting the shedding of rough or dead skin cells. • Benzoic Acid (6%): Benzoic acid is a powerful antifungal and antibacterial agent that helps eliminate fungal infections like ringworm and athlete’s foot. It controls the growth of bacteria and fungi on the skin, reducing the risk of secondary infections.
