Salmocacitone Nasal Solution is used for managing conditions related to bone metabolism, including postmenopausal osteoporosis and other forms of bone loss. It delivers Calcitonin (Salmon) through a convenient nasal spray. By mimicking the activity of natural calcitonin, a hormone involved in calcium regulation and bone maintenance, this synthetic version supports bone density and mineral balance in individuals with a deficiency or altered bone turnover. Formulated with each actuation delivering 200 IU of synthetic Calcitonin (Salmon), Salmocacitone Nasal Solution helps with a non-invasive alternative for individuals who may not tolerate oral or injectable options. 

• Calcitonin (Salmon) IP – 200 IU: Calcitonin (Salmon) is a synthetic form of a naturally occurring hormone that plays a role in regulating calcium and bone metabolism. It may help reduce bone resorption and promote calcium retention in the bones. Commonly used in postmenopausal women and others at risk of bone loss, it may help maintain bone density and lower the risk of fractures.
   
• Other Ingredients: Benzalkonium Chloride IP (0.01% w/v), Phenylethyl Alcohol IP (0.2% w/v), Aqueous Base (q.s.)

• Postmenopausal Osteoporosis: Salmocacitine Nasal Solution may help reduce the rate of bone resorption in postmenopausal women. Supplementing calcitonin levels may help maintain bone strength and reduce the risk of spinal fractures associated with decreased estrogen levels.
   
• Bone Mineral Density: This nasal spray may help enhance bone mineral density in individuals with low bone mass. Calcitonin (Salmon) might work by decreasing osteoclast activity, the cells responsible for bone breakdown, supporting long-term skeletal health.
   
• Bone-Related Disease: Salmocacitone Nasal Solution may help regulate this bone-related disease by moderating excessive bone turnover, potentially offering relief from pain and structural deformities associated with the condition.
   
• Hypercalcemia Management: In cases of elevated blood calcium levels, this product might help normalise calcium by reducing calcium release from bones.
   
• Bone Health: Patients who are bedridden or have limited mobility may experience bone loss. This nasal solution might help mitigate such losses by promoting calcium balance and reducing bone breakdown in the absence of regular weight-bearing activity.

• Use as directed by your physician.
• One actuation of the nasal spray delivers 200 IU of Calcitonin (Salmon). 
• Always follow the exact dosage and administration schedule recommended by your healthcare provider.
• Shake gently before use.
• After the first use, store the bottle upright at room temperature (below 25 °C) and discard it after 4 weeks.
• Since this spray needs refrigeration, allow it to reach room temperature before application.
• Hold the bottle upright and press the two white side arms of the pump toward the bottle until a full spray is released. Repeat until the first full spray is released to prime the pump.
• Carefully place the nozzle into the nostril with the patient's head upright. Then, firmly depress the pump toward the bottle to administer the dose.
• The pump only needs to be primed before the first use. Subsequently, there's no need to prime the pump for each daily dose. Ensure correct nozzle positioning and the patient's head for effective administration.

• Use under the guidance of a registered medical practitioner.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Unopened bottles should be stored in the refrigerator (2 °C to 8 °C).
• Do not freeze.
• Once opened, use within 4 weeks and store at room temperature in an upright position.
• If any irritation or nasal discomfort occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician.
• Not intended for use in children unless specified by a healthcare provider.
