NICOTRET 10 ER TABLET 10 is used to manage and prevent angina pectoris (chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart). It helps reduce the frequency and severity of chest pain episodes and improves the ability to exercise without discomfort.
It contains nicorandil and belongs to a group of medicines called potassium channel activators. Take it as prescribed, swallowing the tablet whole. Continue taking it as prescribed, even when you feel well, as stopping suddenly may worsen angina symptoms.
Avoid alcohol during treatment, as it can lower blood pressure further and increase the risk of dizziness. Avoid using phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors (such as sildenafil) alongside this medicine, as this can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
Tell your doctor before starting if you have low blood pressure, heart failure, or kidney problems, and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Report any worsening chest pain, persistent ulcers of the mouth, stomach, skin or genital area, or severe dizziness or fainting to your doctor right away.
