Megaspas 10/400/250 Mg Tablet 10

Megaspas Tablet is used to manage painful abdominal cramps and spasms. Uses of Megaspas Tablet are:

• Abdominal cramps: This medicine helps relieve cramping pain in your stomach and intestines caused by excessive muscle contractions in your digestive system.

• Spasmodic abdominal pain: It reduces sharp, sudden abdominal pain that comes and goes due to muscle spasms.

• Menstrual pain: This medicine may be used to manage painful periods (dysmenorrhoea), which is pain during menstruation caused by muscle contractions in the womb.

• Colicky abdominal pain: It helps ease intense abdominal pain that occurs in waves, often related to digestive system spasms.

Follow these instructions whilst taking Megaspas Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Take this medicine with food if your doctor advises it.

• Avoid crushing, chewing or breaking the tablet.

• Do not take more than the recommended amount without consulting your doctor.

• Consult your doctor for specific advice on how to use this medicine properly.

Megaspas Tablet is taken orally.

Megaspas Tablet contains three active ingredients that work together to relieve abdominal cramps and pain:

• Dicyclomine (10 mg): This anticholinergic antispasmodic medicine blocks the activity of acetylcholine (a chemical messenger) at muscarinic receptors in the body. It also directly relaxes smooth muscle (the type of muscle found in the intestines and other internal organs). This reduces excessive gastrointestinal smooth-muscle contraction and helps relieve cramping.

• Mefenamic acid (250 mg): This non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), which are proteins that help produce prostaglandins (chemicals that contribute to pain and inflammation). By reducing prostaglandin synthesis, it decreases pain and inflammatory activity.

• Paracetamol (400 mg): It acts mainly in the central nervous system to reduce the transmission and perception of pain, providing additional pain relief.

• Store Megaspas Tablet at room temperature in its original packaging.

• Keep the medicine away from excessive heat, moisture, and direct sunlight.

• Store it out of reach of children.

• Do not use the medicine after the expiry date printed on the pack.

• Eat smaller, more frequent meals: When managing abdominal cramps and spasms, eating five or six small meals throughout the day instead of three large ones can reduce pressure on your stomach and intestines, which may help decrease cramping.

• Avoid trigger foods: If you experience menstrual pain or abdominal spasms, limiting foods that can worsen cramping, such as very spicy dishes, caffeine, and fatty foods, may help reduce discomfort.
