Glycopyrronium (63 Mcg) + Vilanterol (40 Mcg)

Lupin Vilpyro Capsule 30 is used to manage chronic respiratory conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is a combination medicine that belongs to the classes of long-acting antimuscarinic agents (LAMAs) and long-acting beta-2 agonists (LABAs).

It is commonly prescribed for patients with COPD who experience shortness of breath, wheezing, or a persistent cough. Regular use helps maintain better lung function and reduces the risk of respiratory exacerbations.

Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor and use the specific inhaler device provided. Follow these instructions while using Lupin Vilpyro Capsule 30:

The capsule is for inhalation only using a suitable inhaler device.
Do not swallow the capsule.
Use the medicine regularly, even if you feel well.
Use at the same time each day.
Do not stop treatment without consulting your doctor.

Lupin Vilpyro Capsule 30 is meant for inhalation using an inhaler device. The capsule should not be swallowed.

Lupin Vilpyro Capsule 30 may cause the following common side effects:

Headache
Dizziness
Cough
Sore throat
Runny or blocked nose
Dry mouth

Managing the Side Effects:

Most side effects are mild and improve as your body adjusts to the medicine. However, contact your doctor if symptoms persist or become bothersome.

Dry mouth: Sip water frequently, chew sugar-free gum, or suck on sugar-free lozenges to help relieve dryness.
Dizziness: Sit or lie down until you feel better, and avoid sudden changes in position, such as standing up quickly.
Cough or throat irritation: Rinse your mouth with water after using the inhaler to help reduce irritation.

Lupin Vilpyro Capsule 30 contains the following components:

Glycopyrronium (63 mcg): This is a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA). It works by blocking muscarinic receptors in the airway muscles, which reduces the action of acetylcholine—a chemical that causes airway constriction. By preventing this tightening, glycopyrronium relaxes the muscles around the airways, helping them remain open and improving airflow. This effect lasts for an extended period, providing long-term bronchodilation and relief from symptoms like shortness of breath and wheezing.
Vilanterol (40 mcg): This is a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist (LABA). It binds to beta-2 receptors in the smooth muscles of the lungs, stimulating them to relax. This further widens the airways, allowing air to move more freely in and out of the lungs. Vilanterol works for a prolonged period, which helps reduce breathlessness, improve exercise tolerance, and support daily activities.

Pregnancy

Lupin Vilpyro Capsule 30 should be used with caution in pregnant women. It should only be prescribed if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risks to the unborn baby.

Breastfeeding

This combination is usually avoided unless clearly advised by a doctor.
Diuretics, corticosteroids, or theophylline: When used together, these medicines may increase the risk of low potassium levels in the blood, which can lead to muscle weakness, cramps, irregular heartbeat, or tiredness. Your doctor may monitor blood tests if needed.
Beta-blockers (such as propranolol, atenolol, metoprolol): These medicines can reduce the effect of Lupin Vilpyro Capsule 30 and may make breathing symptoms worse in some people with lung disease. Your doctor will decide if this combination is suitable for you.

Prostate enlargement or difficulty passing urine: This medicine may make it harder to pass urine and can worsen existing urinary problems, especially in men with prostate enlargement.
