Fycompa 2mg Tablet is used to manage seizures in patients with epilepsy. It belongs to a class of medicines known as antiepileptic medications, specifically functioning as a non-competitive α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid (AMPA) glutamate receptor antagonist.
This medicine can be used for two main purposes. It helps manage partial-onset seizures (seizures that begin in one area of the brain) with or without secondary generalisation in patients aged 4 years and older. It is also effective for primary generalised tonic-clonic seizures (seizures affecting the entire brain from the start) in patients aged 12 years and older.
You should take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily at bedtime, with or without food. Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions or other medicines you are currently taking. If you notice any unusual behavioural changes or side effects while using this medicine, contact your doctor immediately.
