Fycompa 2mg Tablet 7

Fycompa 2mg Tablet is used for the following:

• Treatment of partial-onset seizures in epilepsy

• Management of primary generalised tonic-clonic seizures

• Adjunctive therapy for refractory epilepsy

• Control of secondarily generalised seizures

• Reduction of seizure frequency in epilepsy patients

• Seizure management in patients aged 4 years and older

• Additional treatment when other epilepsy medicines fail

• Controlling seizures in patients with medicine-resistant epilepsy

Follow these instructions while taking Fycompa 2mg Tablet:

• Take this medicine daily as directed by your doctor.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.

• Do not suddenly stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

• If you miss a dose, consult your doctor for advice.

Fycompa 2mg Tablet is taken orally.

Fycompa 2mg Tablet contains perampanel (2 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• AMPA receptor antagonism: Perampanel selectively blocks AMPA glutamate receptors in the brain, preventing them from being activated by glutamate, the main excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system.

• Reduction of neuronal excitation: By blocking AMPA receptors on post-synaptic neurons, perampanel decreases the excessive electrical activity that can lead to seizures.

• Seizure prevention: Through these mechanisms, perampanel helps stabilise overactive brain cells, reducing the frequency and severity of partial-onset and generalised tonic-clonic seizures.

• Store Fycompa 2mg Tablet below 30°C.

• Keep the medicine in its original packaging, away from direct sunlight.

• Store in a dry place, away from moisture.

• Always keep out of sight and reach of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.

• If you have epilepsy, maintain a consistent sleep schedule with adequate rest each night, as sleep deprivation can trigger seizures.

• Limit or avoid alcohol consumption, as alcohol may increase the side effects of Fycompa 2mg Tablet and potentially worsen seizure control.
