Dronzol 4 MG Injection is used for the following:

• Treating high calcium levels in patients with cancer

• Managing bone metastases from solid tumours

• Treating postmenopausal osteoporosis

• Treating glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis

• Managing Paget's disease of the bone

• Strengthening bones weakened by long-term steroid therapy

Follow these instructions when receiving Dronzol 4 MG Injection:

• This medicine is administered by a healthcare professional in a clinical setting.

• The infusion typically takes at least 15 minutes to complete.

• Drink plenty of fluids before and after receiving this medicine.

• Remain seated or lying down during the administration.

• Report any discomfort at the injection site immediately.

Dronzol 4 MG Injection is administered intravenously.

Dronzol 4 MG Injection contains zoledronic acid (4 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Osteoclast inhibition: Zoledronic acid prevents the activity of osteoclasts, which are cells responsible for breaking down bone tissue, thereby reducing bone loss.

• Hydroxyapatite binding: It attaches specifically to hydroxyapatite crystals in bone tissue, concentrating at sites where bones are actively remodelling.

• Bone resorption reduction: By interfering with osteoclast function, the medicine decreases the rate at which bone tissue is broken down and reabsorbed into the body.

• Calcium regulation: The medicine helps reduce the release of calcium from bones into the bloodstream, addressing the problem of high blood calcium levels.

• Bone density maintenance: Through its actions on bone cells, zoledronic acid helps maintain and potentially improve overall bone strength and density.

• Store Dronzol 4 MG Injection below 25°C.

• Once diluted for infusion, the solution remains stable for 24 hours if refrigerated.

• Weight-bearing exercise: Regular activities like walking or light resistance training can help strengthen your bones and complement the effects of Dronzol 4 MG Injection in managing osteoporosis.

• Calcium and vitamin D intake: Ensure your diet includes calcium-rich foods (such as dairy products, leafy greens, and fortified products) and vitamin D sources to support bone health and help prevent hypocalcaemia (low blood calcium).
