Diurix Sr Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Managing high blood pressure
• Reducing excess fluid retention in the body associated with congestive heart failure
• Supporting the treatment of kidney disorders
• Assisting management of liver cirrhosis
• Lowering the workload on the heart
• Improving blood flow through the blood vessels

Follow these instructions while taking Diurix Sr Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, break, or chew the tablet, as it is an extended-release formulation.

• Take this medicine at the same time each day for best results.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly, even if you feel well.

Diurix Sr Tablet 10 contains indapamide (1.5 mg), which works in the following ways:

• Diuretic Action: Indopamide acts on the kidneys to increase urine production by promoting the excretion of sodium, chloride, and water from the body. This helps reduce the volume of blood circulating in the blood vessels.

• Blood Vessel Relaxation: It helps relax and widen the blood vessels (vasodilation), making it easier for blood to flow through them, lowering blood pressure.

• Reduced Cardiac Workload: By decreasing blood volume through its diuretic effect, indapamide reduces the amount of work your heart needs to do to pump blood throughout your body.

• Electrolyte Balance: While increasing sodium and chloride excretion, indapamide has a relatively mild effect on potassium levels compared to other diuretics, helping maintain a better electrolyte balance.
