CompositionDABIPLA 150 CAPSULE 10 is a prescription blood thinner used to lower the risk of stroke and prevent harmful blood clots in adults with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm condition).
It contains dabigatran etexilate, a direct thrombin inhibitor. It works by blocking a specific enzyme responsible for clot formation, allowing blood to flow more smoothly and keeping dangerous clots from developing in deep leg veins (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolism).
Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water, with or without food, exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not open, chew, or crush the capsule, as this can increase the risk of serious bleeding.
Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have an active bleeding disorder, stomach ulcers, severe kidney disease, or a history of a mechanical heart valve. Consult your healthcare professional immediately if you experience unusual or persistent bleeding.
