Azarga Eye Drop 5ml is used to reduce high pressure inside the eye in adults with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension, when treatment with a single medicine is not enough. It is a combination medicine containing brinzolamide and timolol, and belongs to the class of carbonic anhydrase inhibitor and beta-blocker medicines.
This medicine combines two ways of lowering eye pressure: brinzolamide reduces the production of aqueous humour, and timolol also decreases the formation of this fluid, together achieving greater pressure reduction than either medicine alone. Shake the bottle well before use, and instil one drop in the affected eye(s) as prescribed by your doctor.
If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in.
Tell your doctor about any respiratory conditions such as asthma or severe COPD, and about any liver or kidney problems, before starting this medicine. This medicine is not recommended for those with severe kidney impairment. Report any blurred vision, eye irritation or unusual breathing difficulty to your doctor. Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
