ABIRAPRO TABLET 30 has the following uses:

• Managing metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer: This is a severe form of prostate cancer that spreads and grows despite treatments to lower testosterone levels.

• Slowing the growth of prostate cancer cells: This medicine blocks CYP17, an enzyme required for androgen production, which helps slow the growth and spread of prostate cancer cells.

• Reducing the production of testosterone and other androgens: The active component, abiraterone acetate, specifically inhibits the enzyme CYP17, which is crucial in the production of these hormones.

To use ABIRAPRO TABLET 30 correctly, please follow these steps:

• Take the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew it.

• Follow the precise dosage and timing instructions provided by your doctor.

• Do not change or exceed the prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.

• Consult your doctor before discontinuing the medication; do not stop taking it without their guidance.

ABIRAPRO TABLET 30 contains abiraterone acetate (250 mg). Its activity in the body includes:

• CYP17 Inhibition: Abiraterone acetate works by blocking an enzyme called CYP17. This enzyme plays a key role in the production of androgens, such as testosterone, in your body.

• Suppression of Androgen Production: Abiraterone acetate effectively suppresses the production of androgens in the testes, adrenal glands, and prostate tumour tissue by inhibiting the CYP17 enzyme.

• Slowing Prostate Cancer Growth: Since androgen-sensitive prostate cancer responds to treatments that decrease androgen levels, the reduction in androgen production caused by abiraterone acetate can slow the growth and spread of prostate cancer.

• Maintain a balanced diet with low salt intake, as hypertension is a common side effect of ABIRAPRO TABLET 30.
