Tiotropin F Capsule 30

TIOTROPIN F CAPSULE 30 is used for the long-term maintenance treatment of COPD and as add-on treatment in poorly controlled asthma.

Uses of Tiotropin F Capsule are:

• COPD: Used for the long-term maintenance treatment of COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
• Asthma: Used as an add-on treatment in adults whose asthma is not well controlled.
• Easier Breathing: Relaxes and opens the airways to improve airflow and reduce flare-ups.

Follow these instructions while using TIOTROPIN F CAPSULE 30:

• Use this medicine with the HandiHaler inhalation device only.

• Do not swallow the capsule as it is meant for inhalation only.

• Remove the capsule from the blister pack immediately before use.

• Place the capsule in the HandiHaler device as per the device instructions.

• Take your doses at the same times each day, approximately 12 hours apart.

• Store the capsules in their original package at room temperature.

• Consult your doctor if you have questions about using this medicine correctly.

TIOTROPIN F CAPSULE 30 is administered via inhalation.

TIOTROPIN F CAPSULE 30 contains two active ingredients:

• Formoterol fumarate (12 mcg): This is a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that binds to and activates beta-2 receptors in the airways. This activation leads to relaxation of bronchial smooth muscles, which increases airflow and makes breathing easier for about 12 hours.

• Tiotropium (18 mcg): This is a long-acting anticholinergic agent that blocks muscarinic acetylcholine receptors in the airways. By blocking these receptors, it prevents bronchoconstriction (narrowing of airways) which is controlled by the parasympathetic nervous system. Tiotropium provides bronchodilation (opening of airways) for 24 hours.

• Store TIOTROPIN F CAPSULE 30 in its original package at room temperature (below 30°C).

• Keep away from heat and moisture.

• Remove capsules from the blister pack only immediately before use.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Discard the HandiHaler device 12 months after first use.

• If you have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or asthma, avoid smoking and secondhand smoke as these can worsen your breathing problems and reduce the effectiveness of your medicine.

• Try to maintain good air quality in your living spaces by keeping them well-ventilated and free from dust, strong perfumes, and other potential airway irritants that might trigger breathing difficulties.
