Ranidic Tablet 10 is used to manage functional bowel disorder and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It combines dicyclomine, an antispasmodic, with famotidine, an H2-blocker antacid.
Dicyclomine relaxes the muscles of the gut wall, easing cramping and spasm, while famotidine reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces, relieving heartburn and acid indigestion that can accompany IBS.
Take this tablet as your doctor directs, generally before meals, and continue for the duration prescribed, even if symptoms improve, to keep IBS symptoms under control.
Tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, difficulty passing urine, or a bowel blockage, as dicyclomine needs caution in these conditions. This medicine can cause drowsiness or blurred vision, so take care while driving.
