Prevamet Am 50/5 MG Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Managing high blood pressure

• Preventing and controlling chest pain

• Reducing risk of heart attacks

• Improving blood flow to the heart

• Decreasing workload on the heart

• Lowering cardiovascular complications

• Preventing stroke and kidney problems

• Managing heart-related chest discomfort

Follow these instructions while taking Prevamet Am 50/5 MG Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• Take this medicine at the same time each day.

• You can take it with or without food, but be consistent.

• Continue taking this medicine even if you feel well.

• Never stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

Prevamet Am 50/5 MG Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Prevamet Am 50/5 MG Tablet 10 contains two active ingredients that work together to manage high blood pressure and chest pain:

• Amlodipine (5 mg): As a calcium channel blocker, it prevents calcium from entering the smooth muscle cells of blood vessels. This causes the blood vessels to relax and widen (vasodilation), improving blood flow and reducing blood pressure.

• Metoprolol (50 mg): This beta-blocker works by blocking the effect of the hormone adrenaline on the heart's beta-1 receptors. This slows down the heart rate, decreases the force of heart contractions, and reduces the heart's workload and oxygen demand.

• Store Prevamet Am 50/5 MG Tablet 10 at room temperature in a dry place.

• Keep in the original packaging, away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Store in a safe place out of reach of children and pets.

• Do not use the medicine after its expiry date.

• Discard any unused tablets properly as directed by your doctor.

• Reduce salt intake: Limit your consumption of high-sodium foods like processed meals, canned soups, and salty snacks, as excess sodium can raise blood pressure and reduce the effectiveness of your medicine.

• Regular physical activity: Aim for 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days of the week, such as brisk walking or swimming, to help manage your blood pressure and improve heart health.
