Octamop Forte Tablet 10

Octamop Forte Tablet 10 is used for:

• Treatment of severe psoriasis where standard therapies are inadequate.
   

• Take Octamop Forte Tablet 10 orally with milk or food to minimise stomach upset.
• The timing of ingestion is important. Your doctor will instruct you to take the medicine a few hours before UVA light exposure (PUVA therapy).
• Do not alter the dose or treatment schedule without consulting your doctor.
• Avoid self-exposure to natural sunlight after taking this medicine unless advised.
   

Octamop Forte Tablet 10 is meant for oral use.
 

Octamop Forte Tablet 10 contains the following active component:

• Methoxsalen (20 mg): Methoxsalen is a light-sensitising and skin-colouring agent. After ingestion, exposure to UVA light activates the compound, allowing it to bind with DNA in skin cells. This interferes with abnormal skin cell division, induces controlled cell damage, and increases melanisation (pigmentation). Over time, this helps in repigmentation in vitiligo and reduces scaling in psoriasis.
   

• Store at room temperature away from light.
• Keep in the original packaging until use.
• Protect from moisture and heat.
• Keep out of reach and sight of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date mentioned on the package.
   

• Limit direct sunlight exposure after taking Octamop Forte Tablet 10. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen.
• Maintain hydration to reduce skin dryness.
• Apply moisturisers regularly to prevent scaling and peeling.
• Follow your doctor’s advice regarding controlled UVA exposure.
• Avoid tanning beds or unnecessary UV light exposure.
