Kdion 1 MG Injection 0.5 ML is used for the following:

• Control of haemorrhage due to factor VII deficiency

• Prevention of haemorrhagic disease in newborns

• Treatment of malabsorption-related bleeding disorders

• Correction of clotting problems from prolonged antibiotic use

• Management of bleeding risks from prolonged parenteral nutrition

Kdion 1 MG Injection 0.5 ML contains phytomenadione (1 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Cofactor for clotting factor synthesis: Phytomenadione serves as an essential cofactor in your liver's production of several blood clotting factors, including factors II, VII, IX, and X, enabling proper blood coagulation.

• Gamma-carboxylation: It participates in a process called gamma-carboxylation of glutamic acid residues on clotting proteins, which allows these factors to bind calcium ions and function effectively in the blood clotting cascade.

• Protein C and S production: Phytomenadione influences the production of proteins C and S, which are natural anticoagulants that help maintain a proper balance in your blood clotting system.

• Reversal of anticoagulation: It counteracts the effects of vitamin K antagonists, such as warfarin, by restoring normal blood clotting mechanisms when excessive anticoagulation occurs.
