Admegion 400 Tablet is a medicine used mainly to treat intrahepatic cholestasis (reduced bile flow within the liver) associated with chronic liver disease. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing S-adenosyl methionine (ademetionine), and belongs to a class of medicines called S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) liver medicines.
This medicine works by supporting liver cell function and helping bile to flow more freely within the liver. It is also used for intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy and to relieve fatigue linked to chronic liver disease. Take it by mouth as prescribed by your doctor, usually between meals or on an empty stomach, and swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing.
Avoiding alcohol, eating a balanced diet and attending liver check-ups as advised can help support your liver alongside this treatment.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have bipolar disorder, vitamin B12 or folate deficiency, or any other medical condition, and about all medicines you take, particularly antidepressants and other medicines that affect serotonin levels. If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before use.
