A Skin allergy is an allergic reaction to an allergen or irritant on the skin. Irritated skin may be a cause of a lot of things. Immune system diseases, medicines, and infections are among them. A reaction of your immune system to a foreign chemical that is not usually damaging to your body is known as an allergy. Allergens are the names given to substances that are foreign to our bodies, these give rise to certain skin problems. Examples of allergens include certain foods, pollen, and pet dander. The job of your immune system is to keep you healthy by fighting harmful pathogens that it believes may endanger your body. The symptoms of allergies may include inflammation, sneezing, or a variety of other symptoms, depending on the allergen.
Normally, your immune system adapts to its surroundings. For example, when your body comes into contact with something like a pet dander, airborne allergens such as pollen, animal dander, dust mites, and mould, trigger allergies. Peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, eggs, and milk, to name a few. Stings from insects, such as bees or wasps can also cause skin allergies.
The immune system should recognize that it is harmless and perceive allergies as an outdistance in people with skin allergies.
Rashes- The skin area is irritated, red, or swollen, and it can be painful or itchy.
Eczema- Skin patches become inflamed, itch, and bleed.
Dermatitis caused by contact- After coming into contact with an allergen, red, itchy patches of skin appears almost immediately.

Hives- Red, itchy, raised welts of various sizes and shapes to form on the skin’s surface.

Burning- Skin inflammation causes discomfort and stinging sensations.
These allergies can be treated and cured using certain steroids which help to suppress immune activity thereby suppressing the hypersensitivity of the skin. But before self-medication Consult your doctor about what is best for your particular rash. Corticosteroids are effective against poison ivy, oak, and sumac. They can also prescribe stronger medications if necessary.
