• It can be used for both adults and children above 12 years of age. 

Contraindications 

• Domperidone is contraindicated in patients with irregular heartbeats, moderate to severe liver impairment, and electrolyte disturbances, as it can aggravate these conditions. 

Medications To Avoid With This Drug 

• Avoid taking antiarrhythmic medication and antihypertensives with Domperidone as it can increase the risk of irregular heartbeats when used together.

Overdose And Missed Dose

• Overdose can increase the possibility of abnormal heart rhythm (arrhythmias). You may feel sleepy, confused, and show uncontrolled movements, including unusual eye movements, tongue movements or abnormal posture, which needs to be managed as an emergency in a hospital setting. Therefore, strict adherence to the prescribed dose is essential.
• If you happen to miss a dose of Domperidone, take it as soon as you remember. But, if the time for the next dose is near, skip the missed and resume the regular dosing regime.

Management Of Side Effects

• Take this medicine with food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects and continue taking it as prescribed. If side effects worsen or persist, consult your doctor for a possible treatment plan adjustment.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

• It is better to avoid driving or operating heavy machinery while on Domperidone as it has been reported to cause sleepiness, uncontrolled movements and irregular heartbeats.

Use In Pregnancy And Lactation

• It should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Caution In Other Conditions

• Caution is advised in elderly patients with heart problems and liver dysfunction.

Special Dietary And Lifestyle Recommendation

• To get the most benefit from Domperidone, it's often best to take it about 15 to 30 minutes before your meals.It helps improve its effectiveness in promoting stomach and intestinal movement, which is particularly important if you're taking it for digestive issues.
• Avoid high-fat meals while on Domperidone. High-fat foods can slow down digestion and may counteract the medication's effects. 
• The maximum treatment duration with Domperidone should not usually exceed one week. If nausea and vomiting does not improve within a week, inform your doctor.
