• Doxycycline + Lactobacillus can be taken orally (tablet and capsule).

Age And Dose Restrictions

• It is intended for both adults and children with appropriate doses. Children upto 8 years of age should take this medicine only if recommended by the doctor and if there are no alternate therapies.

Contraindications 

• It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Doxycycline and Lactic acid bacillus or other tetracycline antibiotics, and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Medications To Avoid With This Drug

• Avoid taking anticoagulants (warfarin) and antiepileptics (carbamazepine, phenytoin), retinoids (isotretinoin), other antibiotics (penicillin), barbiturates (phenobarbital), oral contraceptives, iron supplements, with this combination. These medications may alter the safety and effectiveness of Doxycycline + Lactobacillus.

Overdose And Missed Dose

• In case of an accidental overdose of this combination, it is advisable to seek immediate medical attention or contact a doctor for guidance on managing the situation.
• If you miss a dose of this combination, take it as soon as you remember. But, if the next dose is near, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dosing regime.

Management Of Side Effects

• The side effects of this combination are temporary and harmless and resolved by discontinuation. They may not require medical attention. If you experience severe or persistent side effects after taking it, consult your doctor.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

• This combination should not affect your ability to drive or use machines

Use In Pregnancy And Lactation

• Doxycycline is contraindicated if you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Caution In Other Conditions

• Caution is advised in patients with kidney or liver problems, myasthenia gravis (a disease which causes unusual tiredness and weakness of certain muscles, particularly in the eyelid, porphyria (a rare disease of blood pigments, systemic lupus erythematosus, syphilis, and diarrhoea.

Special Dietary And Lifestyle Recommendation

• You should avoid exposure to strong sunlight while taking this medicine as your skin may be more sensitive to sunburn than normal.
• Drink enough water with this medicine to reduce the risk of oesophagal irritation and ulceration.
• Do not take calcium-rich foods with this combination. It may reduce the absorption of this medicine.
• The use of doxycycline might increase the incidence of vaginal candidiasis. Consult your doctor of you experinence the same.
• To ensure complete eradication of the infection, finish the entire prescribed course, even if symptoms improve before completion.
• Limit or avoid alcohol consumption during treatment, as they can potentially interact with the medications and affect their efficacy.
