Dosage Forms Available

• Chlorpheniramine Maleate + Menthol + Paracetamol/Acetaminophen + Phenylephrine Hydrochloride can be taken orally (capsules, tablets, and liquid).

Age and Dose Restrictions

• This combination medicine is recommended for adults and children above the age of 12 years. It is not suggested for use in children under 12 years without medical consultation.

Contraindications

• This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known allergies to Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Menthol, Paracetamol/Acetaminophen, or Phenylephrine Hydrochloride.
• Patients currently taking Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) or within two weeks of discontinuing such medication should not use this combination.

Other Medications to Avoid

• This combination may interact with sedatives (such as diazepam and lorazepam), monoamine oxidase inhibitors (like selegiline and phenelzine), beta-blockers (for instance, atenolol and propranolol), and tricyclic antidepressants (such as imipramine and desipramine).
• Patients should always inform their doctor about all the medications they are currently on before starting this medication.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of this medication can cause serious symptoms such as rapid heartbeat or palpitations, severe dizziness, trouble breathing, or seizures. If such symptoms occur, seek immediate medical attention.
• If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and will cease once the medication is discontinued. However, you should immediately consult your doctor if you experience serious side effects or your symptoms worsen.

• Drink plenty of fluids to manage dry mouth or throat.
• To manage dizziness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.
