This medicine should be avoided in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, in patients of bronchial asthma having asthmatic cough, persistent or chronic cough, as occurs with smoking, asthma or lung disease known as emphysema, productive cough, respiratory failure or are at risk of developing respiratory failure.Â
Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is used to temporarily relieve cough caused by the common cold or flu. It suppresses dry, non-productive coughs by reducing the urge to cough and is commonly found in cold and flu medicines.
