Contraindications

• Amylmetacresol + Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is contraindicated in individuals with known allergies to either amylmetacresol or dextromethorphan hydrobromide.
• It should not be used in cases of productive cough with excessive mucus or phlegm.
• Also, it is contraindicated for cough due to smoking, asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, or other chronic lung conditions.

Other Medications to Avoid

• Amylmetacresol + Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide may interact with MAO inhibitors (such as selegiline and phenelzine), antidepressants (e.g., fluoxetine and paroxetine) and migraine medications (e.g., sumatriptan and rizatriptan).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Overdose of this medication may lead to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, drowsiness and numbness/tingling in the mouth or throat. If such symptoms are observed, consult your doctor immediately.
• This medicine is usually taken as needed and not on a regular schedule. However, if you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, ensuring there is at least a 2-hour gap between doses.
