Thiocolchicoside

Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant used to relieve painful muscle spasms and stiffness. It is prescribed as a short-term supportive treatment alongside rest and physiotherapy.

Thiocolchicoside is commonly used for:

• Muscle spasms: Relieves sudden, involuntary contractions of muscles in the back, neck, and limbs.
• Low back pain (lumbago): Reduces muscle tightness and spasm contributing to lower back pain.
• Neck pain (torticollis): Helps relieve stiff neck and painful muscle contractions in the neck and shoulders.
• Degenerative vertebral disorders: Used as adjuvant (supportive) therapy for muscle spasms associated with spinal problems such as disc disease or vertebral osteoarthritis.
• Post-traumatic spasm: Helps manage muscle stiffness and spasm following injury or surgery.
• Painful musculoskeletal conditions associated with muscle spasms: May be used as supportive treatment to help relieve muscle spasm and discomfort.

Thiocolchicoside is usually prescribed for short-term use only and should be taken alongside physical therapy or rest as advised by your doctor. It is not intended for long-term use.
