• Polmacoxib is available for oral use in the form of capsules.

Age and Dose Restrictions

• This medicine is meant for adults and not usually used in children.

Contraindications

• Polmacoxib is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Polmacoxib or any of its excipients.

• It is also contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer disease or gastrointestinal bleeding, severe liver or kidney impairment, and inflammatory bowel diseases like ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease.

Other Medications to Avoid

• Polmacoxib can interact with anticoagulants (such as warfarin), antihypertensive medicines (like lisinopril and amlodipine), diuretics (such as furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide) and mood stabilizers (like lithium).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of Polmacoxib may cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, drowsiness, dizziness, and gastrointestinal bleeding. In severe cases, kidney or liver problems may occur. If you suspect an overdose, contact your doctor or go to the nearest hospital immediately.

• If you miss a dose of Polmacoxib, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at the same time to make up for the missed one.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects of Polmacoxib are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• Drinking plenty of water may help manage side effects like constipation.

• Taking the medication with or after a meal may help manage gastrointestinal side effects such as indigestion and abdominal discomfort.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• Polmacoxib may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you experience these side effects.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Polmacoxib is not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, and during lactation. Consult your doctor before using this medicine during these periods.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with cardiovascular disease or risk factors for cardiovascular disease should exercise caution when taking Polmacoxib.

• It is also advisable to use Polmacoxib with caution in patients with a history of ulcer disease or gastrointestinal bleeding.

Special Dietary and Lifestyle Recommendations

• Maintaining a healthy weight, as being overweight puts extra stress on weight-bearing joints, increasing pain and inflammation.

• Limit dietary salt to help prevent fluid retention, which can result in increased blood pressure.

• Consume a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains to maintain overall health.
