Contraindications

• This combination is contraindicated in women who are or may become pregnant.
• It is also contraindicated for individuals with known hypersensitivity to finasteride, tamsulosin, or any other inactive ingredient in the formulation.

Other Medications to Avoid

• Finasteride + Tamsulosin may interact with other alpha-blockers (like doxazosin, prazosin, and terazosin), strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (such as ketoconazole and ritonavir), cimetidine, and PDE5 inhibitors used for erectile dysfunction (like sildenafil and tadalafil).
• Always consult your doctor before starting a new medication while taking this combination to prevent potential interactions.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Taking more than the prescribed dose may cause low blood pressure, dizziness, fainting, or increase the risk of side effects. If you suspect an overdose, contact your doctor immediately.
• If you miss a dose of Finasteride + Tamsulosin, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one.

Management of Side Effects

• Drinking plenty of water can help manage side effects such as dizziness or diarrhoea.

• Finasteride + Tamsulosin may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or a drop in blood pressure, affecting your ability to drive or operate machinery. If you experience these side effects, avoid driving and operating machinery until the effects subside.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Finasteride + Tamsulosin is not recommended for use in women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Consult your doctor before using this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Caution should be exercised when using Finasteride + Tamsulosin in individuals with severe liver or kidney impairment.
• Individuals having a planned cataract surgery should inform their eye surgeon about using this medication as it can cause Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome.
