Dosage Forms Available

• Ezetimibe + Rosuvastatin is available for oral administration via tablets.

Age and Dose Restrictions

• This medicine is primarily meant for adults.
• However, it can also be given to children above the age of 10 years only under a doctor's supervision.

Contraindications

• Ezetimibe + Rosuvastatin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ezetimibe, Rosuvastatin, or any other components of the formulation.
• It is also contraindicated in patients with active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations in liver enzyme levels.

Other Medications to Avoid

• This combination may interact with immunosuppresants (like cyclosporine), fibric acid derivatives (such as gemfibrozil and fenofibrate), niacin, coumarin anticoagulants (like warfarin), protease inhibitors used to treat HIV infection (like amprenavir and atazanavir) azole antifungals (such as itraconazole and ketoconazole), and macrolide antibiotics (like erythromycin and clarithromycin).
• It is important to consult your doctor before starting any new medications while you are taking Ezetimibe + Rosuvastatin.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Taking more than the prescribed dose may increase the risk of muscle problems, such as pain or weakness, and liver damage. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.
   
• If you miss a dose of Ezetimibe + Rosuvastatin, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve after discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• To manage headaches, try to rest and keep yourself well-hydrated.
• If you have diarrhoea, drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.
• Simple painkillers can help with joint pain.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• Ezetimibe + Rosuvastatin may cause dizziness or sleepiness in some people. If you experience these side effects, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you feel better.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Ezetimibe + Rosuvastatin is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised by your doctor.
• Always consult with your doctor before taking any medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with a history of liver disease should use Ezetimibe + Rosuvastatin with caution.
• Also, patients at an increased risk of muscle problems (myopathy/rhabdomyolysis) should be cautious while using this medicine.

• Maintain a healthy diet low in saturated fats and cholesterol.
• Engage in regular physical activity as recommended by your doctor.
• Limit alcohol consumption as it can increase your triglyceride levels and possibly damage your liver.
